Friday-
fyrfitrmedic had to work the fireworks in Norwood with his CAP cadets but I didn't feel up to going and didn't feel like dragging Meghan there, so I took her up to Bernie's for water ice instead. It was a nice night, so we sat on the bench in front of the store and ate there. We shared a small cherry-lemon ice and later on, we just took an ambling walk around the neighborhood after playing out front for a bit. There was one minor annoyance-people up the street were lighting off fireworks and being less than safe about it and it put a dent in one of my plans. While we were walking around, I got the idea to take her up to the train station to see if the train was coming but I just did not want to go near where the fireworks were.
Saturday-Tony and his cadets had the parade in Norwood and left very early in the morning. Way too early for Meghan and I, so we went to Aldan's parade, instead, and then to the festivities afterward at the ball field. There is also a new playground that I think is much better than the one we've been going to-it's far less secluded, anyway. For dinner, in honor of the holiday, we had an "indoor picnic". I just grilled hot dogs on the Foreman grill and we had french fries and baked beans with them. Okay, so laziness and having nothing else in the fridge at the moment had a lot to do with the "indoor picnic".
Sunday-We finally put our pool membership to good use and spent some time in the pool. We were probably only there for about an hour but we had someplace to be in the evening. But it was a nice hour. I made lasagna from scratch for dinner and I was surprised at how easy it was. I also made a Ceasar salad. After dinner, we went to my aunt and uncle's for his birthday party.
